Who publishes Real Estate Trail

Real Estate Trail is an independent commercial real estate publication operated by Real Estate Trail Editorial. It serves three purposes: a press wire for commercial real estate announcements, a multi-source news aggregator that surfaces reporting from established industry outlets, and a home for original press releases and market analysis. Coverage spans acquisitions, financings, leasing, sales, and capital markets activity across U.S. gateway and emerging markets.

How content is sourced

Most of what appears on Real Estate Trail is aggregated from named third-party commercial real estate publishers and newswires. We do not present that reporting as our own. Each aggregated story credits the originating outlet by name and links back to the full article at its source. Our role on those items is selection and context: choosing the acquisitions, financings, and capital markets activity that matter, and pointing readers to the publication that reported them first.

The short editorial framing that accompanies aggregated stories, the “Why this matters” note, is either AI-assisted or produced from an editorial template, and each article states which. It is reviewed by Real Estate Trail Editorial and labeled as editorial analysis on each article. It is commentary on why a development is significant, not original reporting, and it never replaces or rewrites the source outlet’s account.

Pieces published in Analysis are a separate class and are held to a different standard: they are written by people, not assembled or drafted by a model, and they carry no AI-assist label because none applies. They are original to this publication and appear nowhere else. Where they cite figures drawn from the transactions Real Estate Trail tracks, those figures come from our own records rather than from generative text.

Figures shown in our State of the Market dashboards come from data, not from generative text. Original press releases carry the issuing party’s attribution and are reviewed before they run. Promotional filler, unverifiable claims, and off-topic submissions are declined.

Aggregated items always link to the original publication, and removal of an item here does not affect the source outlet’s own coverage.
